Quantum makes hard drives and computer related products. The industry has
been in a slump as far as earnings and the company just recently split
up its businesses separating the hard drive business from the digital
linear tape drive business. The cash per share is $5.48 with a book
value of over $8 a share. The price to sales ratio is low at 0.29 which
is low even in light of the cutthroat competition going on. The debt
to equity ratio is also low at 0.16. With the improvements starting
to show in the hard drive industry along with the strong cash position and
low debt, makes this company one worth looking at. Chart pattern looks
technically sound as the stock is nearing a new high.
An earnings surprise for the quarter may well be the spark this company needs
to ignite the stock price.
